The Signature tread features a solid engineered core wrapped in a hardwood wear layer on all 6 sides-so you'll never see edge grain, no matter the angle. Each surface is sanded smooth and finished to your specifications, with a refined 1/8" roundover on every edge. Walnut is one of the most coveted hardwoods in the world, celebrated for its rich chocolate-brown heartwood with subtle purple and gray undertones. Each tread showcases Walnut's naturally striking grain, which varies from straight to wavy, lending every staircase a sense of warmth and luxury. At 1,010 Janka, Walnut is moderately hard and notably stable-resisting shrinking and warping-making it as practical as it is beautiful. Available in standard widths of 36", 42", 48", 54", 60", and 72"-or specify a custom size-with an 11-1/4" depth that meets code. Choose unfinished to apply your own stain or clear coat, or select a pre-finished option for a ready-to-install tread.
