Each of the 6 sides is sanded smooth and finished to your specifications, with a refined 1/8" roundover on every edge. Quartersawn White Oak is cut perpendicular to the growth rings, producing the distinctive ray fleck pattern-a repeating, lustrous shimmer across the face of each landing. This cut also improves dimensional stability compared to flat-sawn lumber, reducing expansion and contraction over time. With a Janka hardness of 1,360 and a rich, golden-tan tone, Quartersawn White Oak is a favorite in craftsman, transitional, and high-end contemporary interiors.
